This RS PRO threaded insert is a simple way to make threaded holes in sheet materials for screws, bolts or other fixings. Place the insert and a screw into any hole of the provided friction wrench, push the assembly through the pre-drilled hole, hold the wrench firmly and tighten the screw till it sits snugly in the sheet.

The insert is self-adjusting, meaning you stop tightening, loosen and remove the screw once you can feel the insert pressing against the sheet firmly. It can be used with a wide range of material thicknesses. Bright zinc-plated mild-steel construction ensures good resistance to corrosion and rust.

Threaded inserts are commonly used in automotive and industrial applications to improve the strength of thin sheets that need to be fastened together. This hollow cavity insert is designed for use with soft, brittle materials like plasterboards or plastic and steel or aluminium sheets.
