Fluke Current Probe, 3kA Maximum AC Current, 178mm Maximum Conductor Size - 2584888

This current probe is a flexible Rogowski-type clamp used to measure alternating current in confined or hard-to-reach installations when connected to oscilloscopes, recorders or data loggers. It is suitable for industrial and field use where high-current measurements are required and when portability and a lightweight measuring head are advantageous.

Features & Benefits

• Measures up to 3000 A ac rms for large system diagnostics
• Switchable 30 A / 300 A / 3000 A ranges for versatile scaling
• ±1% accuracy at 25 °C for precise readings in the mains band
• Output voltage sensitivity selectable for direct instrument input
• 2m cable with BNC termination for convenient equipment connection
• Powered by 2 x AA batteries delivering about 400 h for extended use

**Applications**

• Suitable for power-quality analysis with portable oscilloscopes
• Ideal for commissioning large motors and drives up to 3 kA
• Used with recorders and data loggers in load monitoring
• Can be used for troubleshooting in cramped electrical panels
• Used for measurements where insulated conductors exceed standard clamps

What environmental limits affect head operation?

The measuring head can operate between −20 °C and +90 °C, allowing use near elevated-temperature conductors.

How does external magnetic influence affect measurements?

External currents more than 200mm from the head contribute about 1% of range, reducing interference when positioned appropriately.

What frequency band does it cover for accurate readings?

It provides useful response from 10 Hz up to 50 kHz with phase error under ±1° in the 45–65 Hz band.

What connection accessories are supplied for different instruments?

The unit includes a safety BNC lead and a BNC-to-banana safety plug adapter for compatibility with various test devices.

Supplied with

2 x AA alkaline batteries, BNC to 4mm plug adaptor and operator's manual.
