This switching regulator by RECOM is a DC-DC converter that reduces electric sources of between 4.75 and 18V DC to low-level 2.5V DC power supplies. You can use the unit to replace your existing 1A 78XX linear regulators without installing a new system from scratch. Through-hole mounting forms a secure bond with your PCB. An efficiency rate of 87% means little energy goes to waste and eliminates the need for heat sinks.
