Eaton RCD/MCD - PKNM Series

Introducing Eaton's range of PKNM RCD's, a professional and high-quality range of residual current devices. Providing complete protection, these RCD's have been created and designed to protect users from a fatal electric shock through the use of the automatic switch-off of electricity where there is a fault. The device monitors the in going and outgoing current flow and trips when an imbalance occurs. These RCD's are commonly installed in applications where there are exposed wires, prone to overheating or earth faults. Each device from the PKNM range incorporates a red and green contact position indicator.

The range also features a 3 position DIN clip which is to help prevent the removal of the appliance.

Eaton Instantaneous RCD, 32 A, Type C - PKNM Series - PKNM-32/1N/C/003-MW

Eaton's RCD (residual current device) will immediately trip a problematic power supply to prevent damage to equipment, fire outbreaks and electric shocks. It's designed to detect an imbalance that might suggest a faulty connection or wiring, and it will perform effectively in an electrical setup with open wires and where overheating and earthing issues could occur. Also known as an RCCB (residual current circuit breaker), the RCD is a commonly used safety measure for power distribution units in both domestic and industrial settings.

• Type-C tripping characteristics are suitable for higher electrical surges
• DIN rail mounting style ensures safe and efficient installation
• Toggle switch reset actuator type allows for easy reset after fixing faults
• Screw terminal contact type ensures secure connections

Why are RCDs necessary?

RCDs are additional safeguards on top of your regular fuses and circuit breakers. These devices guard against electrocution and fire outbreaks.

Am I legally obliged to install RCDs?

In the United Kingdom, building regulation BS 7671 calls for the installation of residual current devices as lifesaving equipment in buildings.
