These small-barrel sensors are designed for space-critical applications where standard-size sensors simply will not fit. What can an inductive proximity sensor detect?
An inductive proximity sensor can only detect metal targets. It can recognise both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and can do that through opaque plastic.
