Fluke Insulation Tester, 10000V Maximum Test Voltage, 10MΩ to 2TΩ Insulation Testing Resistance - FLUKE 1555

This insulation tester is a handheld instrument for assessing insulation integrity on high-voltage electrical equipment during maintenance and commissioning. It performs DC insulation resistance evaluations up to very high ranges and integrates wireless connectivity for remote control and data capture, enabling safe, on-site trending and analysis of switchgear, motors, generators and power cables.

Features & Benefits

• Test voltages selectable up to 10000V enabling extended dielectric assessment
• Insulation resistance measurement to 2 TΩ for high-resistance detection
• Test current capacity of 2 000 000 nA to drive accurate measurements on large systems
• Rechargeable lead‑acid battery provides extended field operation between charges
• CAT IV 600V safety rating supports use at high distribution installation points
• LCD display and analogue bar graph for clear numeric and trend visualisation

**Applications**

• Suitable for preventative maintenance on medium- and high-voltage motors
• Ideal for condition assessment of power cable insulation on-site
• Used for commissioning and troubleshooting of switchgear assemblies
• Can be used for generator insulation integrity verification
• Suitable for predictive programmes requiring historical trending data

How does it warn if line voltage is present before testing?

It detects and displays live-circuit voltage up to 600V AC/DC with a warning indication to prevent inadvertent testing on energised circuits.

What connectivity options exist for data management in the field?

Measurements can be transmitted wirelessly via an infrared-to-wireless connector to a mobile app for remote start/stop, trending and Cloud storage.

What test modes assist in diagnosing insulation deterioration?

It offers ramp and timed PI/DAR ratio tests, Plus capacitance and leakage current measurements, to reveal moisture, contamination or progressive degradation.

What environmental range supports outdoor site use?

It operates between -20 °C and 50 °C with humidity tolerance reducing from 80% at 31 °C to 50% at 50 °C for typical site conditions.
