The STMicroelectronics evaluation board featuring the A6983I, a 38 V 10 W synchronous iso-buck converter designed for isolated applications. It provides an adjustable primary output voltage, while the isolated secondary output is derived through a transformer ratio without requiring an opt coupler. With a primary sink capability of up to -4.5 A, including during soft-start, it ensures efficient energy transfer and enables tracked soft-start for the secondary output. The control loop is based on peak current mode architecture, and the device operates in forced PWM mode.
