This safety device automatically breaks a circuit when an overload or fault occurs. With a breaking capacity of 10kA, the unit has a high threshold and withstands large surges without failure. Integrated light-emitting diode (LED) indicators help you quickly and easily spot whether the circuit is on or off. A rated alternating current (AC) voltage of 277V and current rating of 2A make this MCB a good fit for low-voltage applications.

A circuit breaker can be reset to restore current flow to the circuit when the fault is cleared. A fuse, on the other hand, is what's known as a 'sacrificial device', meaning it has to be replaced after a fault.

The 1492-SPM series of MCB’s are current limiting and have an instantaneous break time. These models have Type B Tripping characteristics. They are IP20 finger-safe and they also have dual terminals for wiring and bus bar flexibility. Installation is simple as these MCB’s can be DIN rail mounted, and up to six accessories can be fixed on the same circuit breaker to provide a complete electrical safety system. The 1492-SPM series of circuit breakers reduces downtime from nuisance tripping due to their enhanced shock and vibration resistance.

A Type B miniature circuit breaker will trip instantly at a rate of three to five times its rated current. These MCB’s are often used for small inductive loads where switching surges are very low. They are frequently used in residential or light commercial applications.
