With its compact design, this insulation displacement connection (IDC) socket from 3M gives you more space in circuit design frameworks. It has a pitch of 2mm to accommodate a wire size range from 20 to 26 AWG (American Wire Gauge). IDC connectors like this one are an integral component in modern serial fieldbus systems. Its glass-reinforced thermoplastic body means you're protected from electrical shocks as well as material impact. What's the difference between IDC and crimp termination?
