Schneider Electric Acti 9 iCT Contactors

ACTi 9 iCT Contactors from Schneider Electric provides power switching in single phase 3 phase loads. TeSys GC is a range of contactors that are safe, simple to use, and easy to install. The devices are compact in size and suitable for use in a wide variety of applications.

Features and Benefits

• Built-in auxiliary contacts for added switching capability

• Screw connections: IP20 finger-safe terminals with both North American and International terminal markings

• Can be panel mounted with screws or DIN Rail mounted

• Impulse relay function

• Day-night function

• Class-2 insulation: continuous safety for operators and unqualified personnel

What is the difference between AC-7a and AC-7b when choosing a iCT contactor?

These utilization catagories determine what load the contactors are switching:

AC-7a are for slightly inductive loads for household appliances for example mixers and blenders

AC-7b are for motor-loads for house hold appliances such as fans and central vacuums

Do spacers have to be fitted between the iCT range of Contactors?

If several contactors are fitted onto an DIN Rail then spacers should be used after every second contactor. The reason for this is that with multiple contactors side by side there can be a very high build of heat causing the devices to reach above their operating temperature. The coils themselves are 100% rated so can be on for 24 hours a day and the heat needs to be dissipated, therefore a spacer is required
