The Dormer Straight Flute Bottoming Lead Hand Tap is a metric, ISO-standard threading tool designed for use in medium-strength carbon and alloy steels. Featuring a bottoming lead chamfer, it allows threads to be cut nearly to the full depth of blind holes. Though harder to start, it’s ideal for precision applications where maximum thread reach is essential. Best used as a machine tap or as the final step in a hand-tapping sequence following taper and plug lead taps.
