5300 Series - In-Head Temperature Transmitter

PR Electronics 5300 series single input temperature transmitter offers unrivalled performance In applications making heavy demands on accuracy to convert a wide array of input types to a 4 – 20 mA output signal. The 5300 series transmitters are quickly and easily programmable to the specific application. Configuration via a standard PC and user-friendly software, PReset, available as a free download. Parameters for input, output, sensor error detection and process calibration can be configured via PReset within a few minutes.

Features and Benefits

• For DIN form B sensor head mounting
• Sensor drift detection maintains measuring point reliability
• Flexible input capability, with choice of output modes
• Superior accuracy ensures true, reliable measurements
• Fast response time easily supports safety and cost-critical applications
• High immunity to conducted noise: tested against 10 Vrms in the range 15 Hz–100 MHz
• Continuous check of vital stored data for safety reasons
• Runtime meters provide a valuable history of the process temperature and the ambient temperature around the transmitter
• Very low temperature coefficient ensuring maximum accuracy across changing ambient conditions

Sensor Inputs

The PR 5335 programmable transmitter provides unrivalled input versatility. Virtually any thermocouple or 2, 3 & 4 RTD plus linear resistance up to 700 Ω and bipolar mV signals. Input sensor redundancy function maintains process availability and safety in the event of primary sensor failure. An alert via HART can be used to allow scheduling of maintenance on the faulty sensor.

What is HART?

The HART protocol is a low speed, digital communications scheme that is carried on a 4…20 mA current signal. Since 4…20 mA loops are commonly used in industry, the HART protocol is easy to implement, easy to use, and easy to troubleshoot.
