MCP9700/9701 Thermistor ICs


The MCP9700/9701 series of thermistor ICs convert temperature to analogue voltage. A key advantage of this series of thermistor IC is it's resistance to parasitic capacitance and the ability to drive large capacitive loads.
Applications include temperature monitoring, office equipment, home appliances, entertainment systems, hard disk drives, battery packs and any application that needs to measure a relative change in temperature.

Linear Active Thermistor™ ICs are sensors whose output voltage is directly proportional to measured temperature. The MCP9700 can accurately measure temperature from -40C to +150C. The output of the MCP9700 is calibrated to a slope of 10mV/°C and has a DC offset of 500mV. The offset allows reading negative temperatures without the need for a negative supply. The MCP9700 is packaged in space saving 5-pin SC-70 packages, making it ideal for space-critical and low-cost applications.
