I.E.E Force Sensitive Resistors - FSR

Introducing I.E.E strain gauges, they have been created and designed to measure the strain and force of an item. The gauge sticks to an item, as it deforms the electrical resistance changes - this process can sometimes be referred to as the "gauge factor". I.E.E's strain gauges can be used in a multitude of applications for strain measurement, such as keypads, medical devices and automotive products.

Features & Benefits

• FSR stands for force sensitive resistor

• The sensors feature an ohmic resistor whose resistive value decreases when pressure is applied.

• Two polymer layers are laminated together to obtain sensors less than 1 mm thick: one layer is covered with a network of electrodes and the other with a printed semiconductor

• Reliable, trustworthy reading - through their low sensitivity to excessive noise and vibrations

• Good measurement repeatability (±2%)

• Features a service life that is greater than 10 million cycles

• Can also be used in applications for measuring the strain and force within robotics applications and the security industry

• Both surfaces are completely covered with laminate, ensuring that the gauge grids are protected from any external damage

• Wide operating temperatures range from -30°C to +170°C
