The ON Semiconductor series AX5045 is a true single chip, narrow-band, ASK and FSK RF transceiver for the 60-525 MHz and 700-1050 MHz frequency bands. It offers the unique combination of ultra-low power consumption for transmit and receive operation combined with highest sensitivity and high selectivity. A maximum link budget of 158 dB at 100 bps is achieved, without the need of any additional external front end, thanks to the built-in +23 dBm integrated power amplifier. Several tens of km/miles can be achieved, even in an urban environment, using simply a single chip solution, thus reducing drastically the overall BOM.
