What kinds of faults cause an RCD to trip?

An RCD detects a dangerously high current in your circuit and trips to prevent the current from causing damage. The most common causes of a high current include loose electrical connections, damaged or faulty wiring, adverse weather conditions and moisture in the circuit or a connected appliance.

1492 Series

Allen Bradley general purpose RCDs from the 1492 series. The RCDs have a Type A tripping characteristic and an instantaneous break time. 2 or 4 pole versions available. All the RCDs incorporate screw terminals and can be DIN Rail mounted.
