You can use this RS PRO capacitive sensor barrel type to effectively detect and measure metallic and non-metallic objects without physical contact. It uses an electrical field to accurately detect these items and can also detect contents inside non-metal containers.
The housing of this unit is made from nickel-copper alloy to guarantee it's strong, durable and resistant to corrosion. It has an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of IP67, so you can be assured it's protected against dust and temporary immersion in water. The sensor also has reverse polarity and short circuit overload protection, so you can be sure it's safe to use in your application. Sensors like this one are often used in storage and warehouse environments and in the livestock breeding industry.
