RS PRO H05RR-F Harmonised Rubber Insulated Mains Cable

From RS PRO a high-quality, durable and lightweight H05RR-F harmonised flexible mains power cable with rubber insulation and outer jacket. This power cable has a voltage rating of 300 to 500 V and is ideal for providing power to small portable domestic and industrial appliances.

What is Mains Cable?

A mains power cable connects an appliance to a mains electricity supply through the use of a wall socket or an extension lead which will then be plugged into a mains supply.

Cable Construction

This flexible cable consists of cores made up of bare stranded copper conductors or wires. Each individual core is surrounded by colour coded rubber insulation for easy identification of the wires. All the cores are then surrounded by a final layer of rubber called a sheath or jacket.

What Does H05RR-F Mean?

H05RR-F flexible cable is a type of harmonised cable which means it belongs to the Harmonised Reference System and conforms to the European Harmonisation Standard. This purpose of this standard is to improve standards and quality of cables across Europe to ensure the trade of common standard product.

H05RR-F is the code for this harmonised cable which breaks down into the following:

• H = Harmonised

• 05 = 300 / 500 voltage rating

• R = Natural or synthetic rubber insulation

• R = Natural or synthetic rubber sheath

• F = Flexible copper conductors

Features and Benefits

• Flexible, even at low temperatures

• Excellent resistance to tear and fatigue

• High resistance to abrasion

• Good tensile strength

• Good resistance to dilute acids and bases

• Excellent water resistance

Where are These Cables Used?

Rubber insulated mains power cables are ideal for use in fixed installations and providing mains power to portable appliances in both domestic premises, kitchens and offices. These cables are designed for use in applications in dry and damp locations where minimal damage and a low degree of stress is expected. Applications include the following:

• Household and kitchen appliances such as irons, vacuum cleaners and toasters

• Handheld and portable devices such as radios

• Office equipment such as air conditioning fans

• Lightweight hand and workshop tools such as soldering irons

• Suitable for fixed installation in partition walls, furniture and in hollow spaces of prefabricated building parts
