The Siemens SIPLUS S7-1500 is a high-feature serial communication module designed for railway and industrial automation applications in extreme environments. With conformal coating and an operating range of -40 °C to +70 °C, it supports RS-422 and RS-485 interfaces with transmission rates up to 250 Kbit/s and cable lengths up to 1,200 m. The module is rail-mounted and integrates seamlessly with SIMATIC S7-1500 systems. It supports a rich set of serial communication protocols including Freeport, 3964(R), USS, and Modbus RTU (Master and Device), with up to 255 buffered telegrams and 8 Kbyte of memory.
