Improve space efficiency on your printed circuit boards (PCBs) with this right-angled pin header from 3M. This compact connector lets you make up to 20 different connections on a single board, saving installation time and space. It consists of pins that are soldered directly to the PCB and it can be used for both wire-to-board and board-to-board connections. These pins are made of a copper alloy material that's plated with gold, so you don't have to worry about decay due to rust.

What is meant by through-hole mounting?


This connector is designed for through-hole mounting, which involves the installation of the component onto a printed circuit board with leads using plated holes. It was the most common mounting procedure before the invention of surface mount technology (SMT) and is still widely used.

3M 2500 Series 2.54 x 2.54mm Low Profile Four-Wall Shrouded PCB Headers


From 3M, the 2500 series 2.54 x 2.54mm four-wall shrouded PCB headers with a low profile, space saving design are available in SMT, through hole, straight and right angle PCB mounting configurations.

These 2.54mm 2500 series PCB headers have centre slot polarization to facilitate accurate insertion and dual slot polarization making the connector compatible with other competitive polarization designs. Versions of these 2500 series PCB header connectors are available with a high temperature (260°C) black PCT housing (part numbers pre-fixed with 'N') which are suitable for 'no lead' soldering operations, through hole PCB headers with high temperature housings are suitable for 'paste in hole' reflow soldering techniques.

• Part numbers (N)25xx-xx03 are for use with a 2.39 to 3.18mm PCB thickness
