Users of Tektronix MDO3000 Series oscilloscopes can add functionality by purchasing instrument upgrades after the initial scope purchase. Instrument upgrade MDO3SEC adds enhanced security to any MDO3000 Series oscilloscope. It enables password-protected control of turning on/off all instrument ports and instrument firmware update functionality. This is a one-time permanent upgrade implemented through the software option key. Software option key products require that the instrument model and serial number be provided at the time of purchase. The software option key is specific to the model and serial number combination.
