Eaton Soft-Start Controller, 24 V AC/DC, 24 A - DS7 Series - DS7-340SX024N0-N

This soft-start controller from Eaton limits current inrush to protect a motor from damage caused by sudden power influxes. Its variable ramp times and torque control settings provide unlimited starting configurations make it a versatile choice. The controller's smart design includes a soft-stop feature, which allows for the controlled stopping of a load. Its bypass contactor directly connects a motor to a line for reduced internal power loss and improved system efficiency. This soft starter is an ideal option for controlling water pumps in wastewater management systems.

• Accurately manages peak starting torque to reduce mechanical system wear and damage

• Reduces internal heating to minimise enclosure size and cooling requirements for improved efficiency

• Temperature monitoring sensors trip in the event of overheating or freezing to prevent device failure

This Eaton controller is suited to both DIN rail mounting and screw fixing.

Does a soft starter increase the lifespan of a motor?

Because a soft starter gradually ramps up voltage, it limits inrush current and power which significantly reduces heat buildup. This helps to extend a motor's lifetime, particularly in units that are stopped and started frequently.

Eaton Soft Starters - DS7 Series

This range of softstarters have become increasingly established as an alternative to the star-delta starter. The DS7 is a fully integral part of xStart and all existing components can be used. Designed for normal applications that feature pumping and ventilation machines, fans and small conveyors alongside severs and standard applications. The DS7 is also available with SmartWire-DT connection to simplify wiring and enhance functionality as an automation solution.
