Digital Magnetic Pick-Up
An active version of the standard type (Stock no. 304-166) but incorporating an IC to provide a digital output compatible with most logic systems
Requires a peripheral speed greater than 250mm per second to operate
Rise and fall times and amplitude of the output pulse are independent of the characteristics and speed of discontinuity
Output Characteristics: With no discontinuity moving in fromt of the pole piece, the output voltage will be less than 0.15V. For each discontinuity passing the pole piece, a positive pulse will be produced. To calculate the output pulse amplitude for various loads the following relationship may be used:

Caution
Not polarity protected, any momentary reversal of the supply voltage will destroy the device.

Selecting Magnetic Pickup is essentially consisting of matching a pickup to gear (or other targets) to provide the right amount of input signal to operate at the desired minimum speed. Each type has its unique technical parameters; therefore, it is essential to choose suitable sensors at the right price and quality.
