Siemens MCB, DIN Rail Mounting, 14 to 4AWG - SENTRON Series - 5SY4204-7

Keep safety standards up to par with this MCB from Siemens. Its purpose is to break a circuit if there's an overload or short circuit, preventing faults from damaging attached equipment or putting workers at risk of shocks. Compatibility with DIN rail mounting means the unit is quick and easy to install. Compact dimensions of 36 (W) x 90 (L) x 76mm (D) ensure it slots easily into setups where space is at a premium. Breakers like this are ideal for residential and commercial construction projects, and can also be used for factory production lines.

• Current rating of 4A for use with low-current circuits

• Type C curve means it trips at 5 to 10 times the rated current of 4A

• High breaking capacity of 10kA for maximum protection

• 400V-rated AC voltage for low-voltage applications

• Broad operating temperature range of -25°C to +55°C

How does an MCB work?

A miniature circuit breaker contains a bi-metallic strip. When an overcurrent passes through, this strip is heated and bends, causing it to release a latch which in turn breaks the circuit.
