When the device detects short circuits, earth leakage or overload, the three poles trip, preventing damage to connected equipment. As this handy unit has type-C tripping characteristics, it breaks the circuit when the load is between five and ten times the 20A rated current. This means you'll be spared a trip to the fuse box in the event of a sudden surge.
