Electro-mechanical and thermal mechanisms give you all-around protection from short circuits and overloads. The MCB's type B breaking characteristic ensures it trips the moment small surges between 3 and 5 times the rated load of 16A are detected. This means you'll get no nasty shocks when working with your equipment.
