3M™ Performance Industrial Masking Tape 301E is designed for industrial paint masking applications. Its temperature performance allows air-drying and oven-curing of paint up to a maximum of 100 °C for 1 hour.

Why would I bake paint onto metal?

Baking paint onto metal reduces the curing time of the paint. This can cut the production time for an object from days to hours.

When should I remove the masking tape after a paint bake?


It's best to remove the tape as soon as the item you're painting has cooled to room temperature. This will reduce the risk of the paint cracking when you remove the tape.

What is the difference between masking tape and duct tape?
