This light curtain is a Compact safety sensor intended to protect short-range access points on machinery. It operates as a Type 4 receiver within safety circuits, providing monitored output signals and optical synchronisation for standalone or cascaded configurations. The device is supplied as a twin stick with brackets, system plug and a test rod, and is designed for industrial environments that require fast interruption detection and Compact installation.

It requires 24V DC and accepts an input range of 19.2V DC-28.8V DC with ≤10% ripple.

It is rated to IP65, operates between -20°C and +55°C and withstands vibration and shock per relevant standards.

How is the device connected to a control system?

Connection is via a 5-pin M12 plug with a 160mm cable pigtail and hard-wired configuration.

It fulfils Type 4, SIL 3, Category 4 and Performance Level PLe as specified by the standards.

Note

Two identical miniTwin-stick packages MUST always be ordered for a complete system.,Cable: Each miniTwin is supplied with an M12 5-pin 1-way system plug. To cascade 3 pairs you will need 2 x cascade cables. Either 701-2962 for miniTwin up to 540mm or 701-2971 for miniTwin over 600mm. These cascade cables have 2 x plugs and should be attached to the rear of your middle pair of miniTwin. The cascade extender cable 701-2974 can be used in conjunction with the 2 x cascade cables to increase the distance between miniTwin if required. Regardless of whether you use these devices stand-alone or in a 2 x pair or cascade format you will need to purchase 2 x M12 5-pin connector cable eg 523-0335.,Brackets: 2 x C-Fix and 2 x L-Fix brackets are supplied with each miniTwin.
