This family of light modulation ICs, from Hamamatsu, were developed for optical synchronous detections under disturbance background light. A monolithic photo IC chip contains a photodiode, preamplifier, comparator, oscillator, LED driver and signal processing circuit etc. Suitable applications include paper detection in office machines and optical switches.
