FAQ

Q: Are 1/8" mini jacks compatible with 1/4" standard jacks?

A: An adapter is needed to connect a 3.5mm stereo jack plug to a 6.3mm jack socket. Adapters are commonly available and often ensure no tangible loss of quality in the connection.

Q: What is the difference between 2 pole and 3 pole jack plugs?

A: For professional and typical audio applications, 3 pole jack plugs are often used as they are stereo and suitable for most purposes. 2 pole jack plugs are only suitable for mono applications, such as running individual sound feeds to specific speakers in an audio concert setup. They are often used to plug guitars into amps, so much so that they are often called guitar jacks.
