RS PRO Tri-Rated Switchgear Cable


Tri-Rated Cable gets its name from the fact that it meets the specifications of three different standard-setting bodies. Those designations are:

  • The British Standard Institute (BSI)

  • Underwriters Laboratories (UL)

  • Canadian Standards Association (CSA)

    • Tri-Rated Cable, known as BS6231 Cable, Panel Wire or Switchgear Cable is commonly used in instrumentation panels, motor control centres and motor starters applications.

    We are proudly introducing our own branded RS PRO Tri-Rated Switchgear Cable Class 5 flexible, high-temperature flame retardant Cable. Our Cable is made of flexible copper and encased with PVC (heat resistant polyvinyl chloride) insulation. The advantage of using this type of Cable is that it allows many different approvals to be met from a single Cable type, thereby simplifying purchasing, stockholding, and production. The Switchgear provides Maximum Operating Temperature of up to +90°C (105°C for 15,000 hours).
