RS PRO, M10, Zinc Plated Steel Nylon Insert Lock Nut
These lock nuts from the RS PRO range are an effective alternative to Aerotight® fasteners. They're frequently used by DIY motor enthusiasts, builders, roofers and joiners, and are also fit for more general mechanical, railroad and industrial settings.
This self-locking nut has a nylon insert which provides 360° sealing making it efficient at stopping the leaking of water, oil, solvents and other liquids. When a mating bolt is inserted, the nylon insert will compress. As a result, the lock nuts can resist high vibrations and torque.
The M10 fastener is zinc-plated which makes it resistant to corrosion and rust. It's also created from mild steel grade 8.8 and conforms to ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung, or the German Institute of Standardisation) 985, meaning it can withstand tension of up to 800 N/mm². The nylon insert can also withstand temperatures up to +250°C.
