RS PRO Flow Switch
Need to monitor the flow of a liquid and turn it off when it reaches a preset rate? This flow switch from RS PRO uses a spring-supported paddle with an attached magnet to assess rate of flow. When the rate approaches your predetermined value, the paddle's magnet nears another magnet with opposite polarity located outside the flow chamber. This second magnet is connected to a powerful microswitch, which can alter the flow when the rate is either above or below the preset value.
The paddle and other functional parts of the device are made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, to keep out pollution. The switch features relatively low pressure loss and can be used to monitor water, gas and oil.
This kind of switch is mostly used to indicate when part of a system isn't working properly. It's commonly found in cooling, heating and ventilation equipment.
