This vertical-mounting float switch from RS PRO is handy when you need to monitor the level of liquid in a tank. You can also use it to turn a circuit on or off when it reaches a preset level. You can reverse the switch action by removing, inverting and then refitting the float.

The switch's compact design makes it easy to fit in confined spaces. It's made from polyphenylene sulphide, which is resistant to aggressive chemicals and can has a high melting point, meaning this switch can withstand temperatures up to +120°C. It offers a highly effective seal thanks to the nitrile rubber gasket.

You can couple this float switch to an electrical circuit with an M12 4-pin connector. Units of this kind are commonly found in applications including vending machines, printing systems and chemical dosing equipment.
