This DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung, the German Institute for Standardization) rail transformer from the RS PRO range can be used in the home or workplace to ensure electrical devices receive the correct voltage from the mains.
Transformers transfer electricity from one circuit to another without incurring frequency changes. This is useful for any electrical item that uses power at a lower voltage than the mains, such as domestic appliances and audio and video equipment – essentially, anything plugged into a socket.
Transformers are designed to match a wide range of frequency, energy and voltage levels. This single-phase isolation transformer has a primary voltage rating of 230V ac and a power rating of 72 VA, so it's suitable for use in general applications.
