RS PRO Counterpart for 40 mm Holding Magnet


Part of our tried and tested RS PRO range, these counterparts are steel discs used together with electromagnets in magnetic locks. 'Mag locks' use an electric current to produce a magnetic force that keeps doors closed. The counterparts (or armature plates) have been designed to complement both energise-to-hold and energise-to-release electromagnets.

The armature plates are made from high-quality steel with a nickel plating that's not only corrosion-resistant but also highly magnetic, for an even stronger hold. This disc has a diameter of 50 mm and is suitable for use with a 40 mm holding magnet.

These RS PRO counterparts are RoHS compliant for restricted hazardous substances. They also conform to ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007 standards for safe electrostatic discharge during the handling and packaging process. Magnetic locking systems that use an electromagnet and counterpart are typically found on security doors, gates and cabinets.
