Need to power a low-current appliance over a long period of time? This lithium-thionyl chloride battery from RS PRO is perfect for the job. Its standard AA size makes it compatible with a vast range of devices from locking cylinders through to offshore instrumentation. It's fitted with a PCB pin terminal for connection to a printed circuit board.

The battery's high energy density offers a long runtime for its size, while its full-sealing structure gives it a shelf life of over 15 years. When stored at +20˚C, it has a low self-discharge rate of just 1% a year. This battery will also operate at extreme temperatures, from a low of -55˚C to a high of +85˚C.

Lithium-thionyl chloride batteries are particularly suited to low-power applications. This is because these can make the most of the battery's longevity without any impact on performance. Typical applications include alarms, timers and automatic toll systems.
