What is Ingress Protection?
An IP rating classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects (including body parts like hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact and water in electrical enclosures. The first number indicates the protection from solids and the second number is the protection from liquids.
Can the enclosure be used outside?
This enclosure has an IP40 rating so there is no protection from liquids, so this product is not recommended for outside use.
