This reverse polarity male TNC connector from the RS PRO range is a miniature radio frequency (RF) connector used for joining coax cables together.

Coax cables, also known as coaxial cables, are used to convey data. When paired with its corresponding female connector, this straight cable mount TNC receptacle can be used to connect two coax cables, creating a secure line of transmission.

TNC connectors share most of their design with BNC connectors, but with a threaded screw-type mechanism instead of a bayonet. This provides a more secure, reliable connection that can work at higher frequencies and withstand greater levels of vibration. To terminate, simply crimp the coaxial connector onto the cable with a crimping tool.

This is a reverse polarity connector, which means it has a female-threaded receptacle rather than a male centre pin. This is simply to prevent accidental male-to-male connections, which can cause signal degradation.
